Intermediates defeated Rahoon Newcastle in the league last weekend on a scoreline of 3:11 to 0:11.

Minor game to be re-fixed v’s Cappataggle this week.

Underage - Hurling Club table quiz this Fri 10th @ 10pm sharp in O'Donohues Abbeyknockmoy in aid of Underage hurling club and upcoming Feile competition. Please support. Underage hurling continues each and every Sunday @ 12.30pm for all U6, 8 & 10's. All are welcome with Hurls and helmets available.

Our U16's were victorious last Thurs in championship against Salthill - Knocknarra in the Prairie. Coming through by the narrowest of margins our lads had to dig deep and grind out a win against all the challenges thrown at them. Fair play to the panel and management and we wish them well in their next outing.

U14's played Carnmore last Sat in a challenge game as they prepare for Feile the weekend of 17-19th April, Feile being the highlight for all underage hurlers. Our first Feile game will be at home Fri 17th V Tuam then Sat our host club is Portumna so we'll be based there all day Sat where we have Portumna, Barna & Rahoon to play with the outright winner competing in the Final in Athenry Sun 19th @ 12pm. Pls support the table quiz this fri 10th so we can kit our players out for the weekend.

Panel V Carnmore was Cian Forde, Sean Lydon, Daniel Lydon, Tomas Brogan, Niall Forde, Jaden O'Connor, Gearoid Quirke, Ronan Dunleavy, James Quirke, Cian Quirke, Michael Molloy, Alex Park, Adam Connolly, Rhys Forde, Jamie Collins, Shane Igoe, Niall Farragher.

U12's played Spiddal in their first outing of the season last Wed in Abbey. With a fantastic turnout we were able to field 2 different teams for each half giving all players game time to express themselves. Thanks to all for attending & we're training again Mon 7-8pm.

Abbey HC were kindly invited by Carnmore HC to enter a "Seniors " team into their inaugural 7 @ side charity event in aid of Croi last Sat. Somehow under the stewardship of Michael Coleman (and a lot of begging) we fielded what you could call a mixed bag, with 1 or 2 under 40 and the rest the wrong side of 50. (no names mentioned). When we eventually located socks, togs, boots, hurls and of course a first for some having to wear a helmet. We took on the might of Turloughmore in the first game and came through after a tight battle having to call on all our speed and silky skills. We progressed to the final taking on the hosts and seeing as it was a charity event and they kindly hosted and entertained us for the day (& night) we felt it would be wrong to take the cup off them, so we finished a gallant 2nd. Sincere thanks to all who togged and supported the "Dream team" with particular thanks to the legendary Joe Cooney who fulfilled his long term dream of playing for Abbey after having a permission to play application granted at the last hour!!

For the record the panel was: Michael Coleman, Capt. Joe Cooney, Tomas Mannion, Adrian Forde, Tomas Boyle, Sean O'Donnell, Mike Tarpey, and Declan Molloy.

Camogie: Under age training this eve (Wed) from 7pm - 8pm. Please ensure your child is registered. Registration forms available at the pitch from coaches.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Helen Gannon & her family on the recent passing of her brother.

Commiserations to the Monivea Rugby junior team who lost their final at the weekend.

Congrats to Kieran Concarr & Clare Carey on the birth of their daughter, Indie.
