Thanks to all the girls and parents who attended the trip to Birr on Saturday and to all the parents for their kind words about the trip. Also big thanks to the Birr camogie club and the county board for looking after us on the visit and to the Galway senior camogie team for their time after the game with the girls. We would also like to wish Ann Marie Starr a full and speedy recovery.

TABLE QUIZ: Well done to the organisers and contestants last Friday night on a truly successful and enjoyable Intermediate team fund raising quiz night at McGann’s Bar, Monivea. Almost 80 ‘general knowledge experts’ crammed into the back lounge with their thinking hats pulled securely over their heads. Quiz master on the night was Tommy Devane who did a fantastic job along with Gerry, Brian and Keith on the floor as well as Michael on the scoreboard. Many thanks to the local businesses who generously donated spot prizes on the night. Many thanks to Eileen& Lorraine McGann for accommodating us on the night and providing hot snacks. Well done to the winning team on the night; Cathal Duffy, Brian & Michelle O’Donnell and Kieran Concarr. Second place was secured by Padraic O’Donnell, Sean O’Donnell, David Finnerty and Martin Kennedy.

Hard luck to Paul Flaherty and the Galway hurlers last Sunday in the Leinster Hurling Final against Kilkenny. Well done to Caelom Mulry and Fionnan Garvey and the Galway Minor Footballers who demolished Mayo last Sunday. They now look forward to a Connaught Final against Sligo in a few weeks’ time.
