Hurling: Training continues this week for the Juniors and Intermediates on Friday at 7pm.

Well done to the Intermediate team on their win over Killimor in their second championship group game on a full time score line of 1-10 to 0-10. In what is always a hard earned and hard fought game between us, Abbey got the crucial goal through Padraig O'Donnell. Again Paul (0-5) and Brian Flaherty (0-2) were our prominent scorers ably assisted by Danny Mullins (0-1), Caelom Mulry (0-1) and Eoin Blade (0-1). For Abbey Brian Flaherty and John Culkin were the standout performers. We look forward to our next game against Craughwell on Sunday at 12pm in Turloughmore. Team was Declan Molloy, Tommy Farragher, John Culkin, David Carton, Stephen Ruane, Brian Costello, Ronan Cooley, Brian Flaherty, Damien Rooney, Paul Flaherty, Coleman Maher, Danny Mullins, Caelom Mulry, Padraig O'Donnell, Craig Kennedy. Subs used Eoin Blade, Shane King & Brian O'Donnell

Junior League: Well done to the Juniors who beat Skehana in the league last Tuesday. Next game fixed is against Padraig Pearses in Ballymacward on Wednesday 6th May at 7:30pm with another game against Carnmore TBC for the weekend.

Underage hurling: Underage training continues every Sunday morning at 12.30pm all are welcome especially newcomers to U6 & U8's.
U10's played last Sunday in Abbey against Mountbellew and after an entertaining game it ended 3-3 each. They also played Pearses on Tues in atrocious heavy showers but they stuck at it and ended up winning the game on a score line 4-1 to 3-0. Well done lads.

U12's played Annaghdown last week in a challenge and start their league V Rahoon next Saturday in Rahoon - TBC.
Our 16's were kindly invited to a 17yr old tournament by Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon Co. Donegal on Bank holiday Monday. We left Abbey in the early hours and headed north. Firstly, we played Cushendall from Antrim where we lost narrowly. We then faced Easkey from Sligo where we were very unlucky. Then we beat Carrickmore from Tyrone and then back on the bus to Bundoran to play Pearses Roscommon. We ended up in the B final against Pearses again where we really opened up and hurled like we know we can and played some super free flowing hurling and ended up winning handy by 7-6 to 1-2. Sincere thanks to our host club for the excellent way we were catered for. Thanks to parents for their support on the day. Thanks to the hurling club for providing the bus. Panel was Mathew king, Dara Coleman, Gavin Cosgrove, Jason Joyce, Gearoid Quirke, Eric Neilan, Keith Boyle, Cathal Cooley capt, Hugh Mcdonagh, Niall forde, Ciaran Farrelly, Ryan Cosgrove, Dillon Reynolds, Colm Flaherty, Craig Higgins, plus Philip Muldowney, Cian Reynolds & Michael Molloy. Management was Michael Coleman, David Staunton & Declan Molloy.

Camogie: Our Junior Cs will play their league semi-final on Wednesday in Skehana at 7pm against Sarsfields.

In U12, our North team play Carnmore in Abbey on Wednesday at 6.30 and our U12 West team take on Salthill away Thursday at 7pm.

Our U10s will have games this weekend with times/venues TBC. Training continues 7-8pm on Wednesday for all under age groups and Friday for U10, 12,14s.
