Camogie: U16 took part in 7 a side blitz organised by Athenry Camogie Club. Many thanks to Athenry for the games and hospitality.

Congrats to both U 12 teams who made the quarter finals of their respective championships. First up next Friday 5th is the North Team V Ahascragh in Kilreekil at 6.30pm. On Sunday the 7th June at 1pm in Kilreekil the West team take on Sylane. Good luck to all the girls.

U10 fixtures TBC. Training as usual Wednesday for U6, 8, 10, 12, 14s and Friday for U10, 12, 14s.

"Come hell or high water" was tested on Bank Holiday Monday with our inaugural 6k & 30k "tour of the parish" Abbey HC family fun cycle. You can truly tell a lot about people on events like this. And as per usual the "old reliables" come to the fore. Credit to every single person who pulled into the pitch on bank holiday Monday with the inclement weather conditions. You would have been forgiven for turning over for an extra hour on such a day but the parish and club came to the fore once again. A massive thank you to so many volunteers and participants. From the cyclists but especially the families with young kids who took part in the 6k & 30k, the diligent marshals, Mike from blood bike west on his Motorbike, Ryans & McGanns for water stops, all the drivers, the fabulous ladies who just take over and control registration, tea & coffee with ease, Michael Coleman and everyone who stood in a gap or helped in any way, it's much appreciated. Yes everyone got soaked but no-one complained & everyone got around safe which was paramount on the day. Special mention to an amazing 11yr old (Olin Murray) who completed the 30k in 3rd place after climbing Kilskeagh hill against driving wind & rain but went back to check on his mother’s welfare, he then turned around and climbed Kilskeagh hill again and drove on to catch the group again and finish 3rd.

Underage Hurling: Following 3 wins and a draw in their tournament the u10 hurlers played their quarter final v Ahascragh-Fohenagh last Tuesday 26th in Abbey. However with a goal from the opposition in the final minutes of the game Abbeyknockmoy came out the losers with a final score of 4-5 to 4-3. The finals day for all teams participating in this tournament is fixed for June 20th, venue TBC. Plenty more games to look forward to and the CATS tournament is coming up later in the season.
U10 panel: Patrick Balfe, Alex Boyle, Darragh Maloney, Eoghan Shanley, Daire Wynne, Shane Forde, Kevin Brogan, Michael Keary, Michael Killarney, Conor Mannion, Marc Joyce, Cathal Fahy, Darragh O Connor.

After many months of debate we are changing our Underage hurling training for U6, 8 &10's to Friday's 6.30-7.30pm starting this Friday June 5th on a trial basis. We hope this encourages plenty more kids especially U6 & 8yr olds to come along with your friends and enjoy hurling in a fun environment.

We wish Daniel Lydon a speedy recovery from a recent unfortunate injury.

Well done to Marie Farragher who completed the Women's Mini Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday.

Well done to our club hurler/Galway Senior Hurling panel member Paul Flaherty and the Galway Senior Hurlers on coming back to draw level with Dublin in the Leinster Quarter Final last Sunday. Good luck in the replay next weekend from all AHC supporters.
