Camogie: Well done to both the U-12 West and U-10s who won their games this week and commiserations to our U-12 and U-13 teams who lost out. Training will be as usual on Wednesday at 7-8pm and Friday 6 -7pm for U-10,12s and 14s. The U-10 and U-12 teams are planning a trip to Birr on July 4th for a game before supporting the Galway senior camogie team who play Offaly the same day. More details to follow.

Underage hurling: For the past number of years we've had underage training on Sunday mornings from 12.30 to 1.30pm. In recent times we've been having an ongoing debate about the pros & cons of switching it to a different day/time. We've asked you for your opinions through surveys and we've listened to all the feedback available. So we've decided to trial Underage training on Friday evenings from 6.30 to 7.30pm instead of Sunday. We hope this works as our solitary aim is to make hurling accessible to all kids of all ages in a fun and safe environment. Sunday 31st of May will be our last Sunday training we'll start underage on Fridays from 5th June 6.30-7.30pm. All welcome especially newcomers to 6 & 8's.

Our U10's played a challenge against Turloughmore last Tuesday evening in Abbey in with some excellent skills on display. Well done lads. The next game is v’s Ahascragh which is fixed for Tuesday 26th in Abbey at 6.30pm.

Well done to our U12's on another superb win beating Kilimordaly last Saturday evening in Abbey. It's a credit to the entire panel for the grit and determination shown by every one of them. Winning on score line of 3-11 to 6-6. Training continues Monday 7-8pm.

Our U14's bowed out of the championship last Monday evening after defeat to Carnmore in the Cup semi-final. We started the game at a millions miles an hour with Jaden O'Connor in the flying form winning the throw in and launching a ball into the heart of the Carnmore defence where Michael Molloy pounced on it and finished it to the net for the perfect start. We went on attack again from the puck out and could have had a second goal but came away with a point. After that text book start it all went downhill. Our captain and talisman Jaden O'Connor received an unfortunate blow to the side of the head /jaw and was down for a long period. Reluctantly Jaden had to go off and seek medical attention and we never got going again after that and failed to score again. Carnmore capitalised and scored 2-6 to end up winning the game and head to the cup final. We didn't care as our main concern was for Jaden and we wish him a speedy recovery. For the rest of the panel they've given us some great enjoyment over these short few months during championship and especially over Feile week end where they did us proud. This panel of players certainly improved during their short season and we plead with them to keep hurling with the U13 & U15 championships yet to commence. Sincere thanks to the management team of Jerry Quirke, Sean Moran, Adrian Forde and Declan Molloy for all their time, dedication and commitment since the beginning of the year.  U-14 Panel: Shane Igoe, Ronan Dunleavy, Rhys Forde, Niall Farragher, Daniel Lydon, Gearoid Quirke, Shane Loftus, Tomas Brogan, Jaden O'Connor, Cian Harris, Adam Connolly, Alex Park, Jamie Collins, Cian Forde, Niall Forde, Michael Molloy, James Quirke, Cian Quirke.

We are finalising details for our Family Fun Cycle "Tour of the Parish" on Monday the 1st June. We have two routes available; a 6k & 30k for both novice and experienced. Registration takes place at club grounds from 10.30am for €10.00. All kids’ ages welcome to come to the pitch as we'll have entertainment and refreshments, face painting etc. for all. Donations will be made to Cancer Care West also. So beg, borrow or steal a bike and don't miss this leisure cycle. Safety will be paramount on the day and no helmet means no cycle.
