There was no jackpot winner in this week's Crumlin Park House & Resource Centre Sponsored lotto. Numbers drawn were 8, 16, 23, and 25. Jim Fox, Ryehill matched 3 winning €40. Seller’s prize goes to Gerry Flaherty. Next week's draw for €6000 will take place at Moran’s Bar along with the monthly draw.

Camogie: The monthly camogie club meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday at 9.30pm. All parents, players and members are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Well done to our U10 & U12 teams who won their games over the weekend. There is an U8 blitz in Craughwell this Sat 23rd May at 11.15am and the U12 North team are at home to Salthill this Thursday at 7pm.

Hurling: Juniors drew their opening championship group 2 game on Sunday evening against Oranmore-Maree 0-12 to 2-6. Abbey trailed at half time 1-4 to 0-4 with our scores coming from Kenny Garvey (0-2 from frees) & Daniel Flaherty (0-2 from frees). Facing into a stiff breeze in the 2nd half Abbey hit four early points from Rob Lally, Darren Collins, Wayne Moloney & Kenny Garvey (free) put us into the lead in the wet conditions in Carnmore. Kenny exchanged scores with Oranmore to put us up by 2 points before Oranmore struck with a goal in the dying minutes. A quick puck out from Mark Flaherty made its way to Rob Lally who levelled the game and the ref blew it up. Great credit to the team, who after two setbacks in each half came back on both occasions and might feel disappointed not to collect the win. Team was Mark Flaherty, Michael O'Brien, Keith Higgins, Mike Gannon, Cian Murphy, John Coleman, Eanna Connolly, Ger Ruane, Colm Mannion, Wayne Moloney (0-1), Kenny Garvey (0-6, 5 frees), Declan Moran, Rob Lally (0-2), Darren Collins(0-1), Daniel Flaherty(0-2, 2 frees). Subs Darren Blade for Mike Gannon, Alan Devane & Tomas Boyle. Management team; Aidan Flaherty, Keith Higgins, Mike Burke & Tony Smyth.

Underage hurling: Underage training continues Sunday mornings 12.30-1.30pm. All welcome especially we newcomers to U6 & U8's.

Last Monday evening we hosted Sylane in a blitz for U6,8 & 10's. We had a serious turnout from all teams and very inch of our grounds was needed to cater for such great numbers. It was a pleasure on such a fine evening to watch every child that came along get some quality game time, but more especially for this year’s newest recruits to see their faces when they get their first opportunity to pull on a Abbeyknockmoy HC club jersey and represent their club and also their proud parents who came along to support them. It was a great evening and we thank Sylane for coming over and thanks to parents for their support and well done to all managers and referees on the evening.

U10's have a challenge game V Turloughmore this Tues 19th in Abbey @ 6.30pm.

U12's will have round 2 of the league next Sat TBC.

U14's beat Clarinbridge last Monday night and have qualified for the Cup semi -final V Carnmore on Monday 18th in Kenny Park, Athenry.  Best of luck!

Last Saturday we were delighted to welcome Paudie Butler former National Hurling Co-Ordinator to our club grounds all the way from Drom in Co. Tipperary. Paudie worked with our 8-10's firstly and with his infectious enthusiasm he soon had not only coaches but every parent in the vicinity involved. Everyone was fully engrossed and learning together. He continued non-stop with our 12-14's and more coaches and parents joined in. It was fantastic afternoon for passing on Paudie’s wealth of knowledge and experience and everyone present recognised his presence, authority and above all his love and passion for the game. We thank Paudie Sincerely for giving his time so generously and also to all the kids and coaches but particularly to our new coaches/ parents who attended.  We urge you all to continue to come along and help out and bring a few more!
