Intermediates played a challenge against Ballinaderren last Saturday evening in Ballinaderren. Overall it was a good performance by all the squad with the game ending in a draw, Abbey 2-15, Ballinaderren 3-12.

Best of luck to the U21’s who are playing the second round of the championship this weekend v Mellick Eyrecourt. Fixture date and time to be confirmed.

Intermediate and U16’s are in action at the weekend. Details TBC at training.

Texas Holdem Poker Night: Come along to O’Donohoe’s, Abbeyknockmoy on Friday 13th March for our Poker Night. Poker entry fee is €30 with buy back at €10. Enter before 9 p.m. and receive additional chips. The Poker commences at 9:30pm sharp. All are welcome.

Omitted from last week’s notes: U14's. In what can only be described as horrendous conditions on Saturday (28th Feb) afternoon, our courageous U14's welcomed Skehana to Abbeyknckmoy for round 2 of the Connacht Tain league. Playing with the elements in the first half we scored 1-2 to 2pts. Thankfully for the second half the rain stopped but underfoot conditions were very testing. Our young hurlers stuck to the task and increased the work rate winning out in the end on a score line of 1-4 to 2pts. The Panel v Skehana was Rhys Forde, James Quirke, Ronan Dunleavy, Niall Farragher, Cian Forde, Gearoid Quirke, Shane Loftus, Jaden O'Connor, Niall Forde, Daniel Lydon, Tomas Brogan, Adam Connolly, Alex Park, Michael Molloy, Cian Quirke.
