Underage Hurling: Underage training every Friday at 7-8pm, all are welcome.

Our Annual CATS (Carnmore, Abbey, Turlough, Sylane) tournament gets under way this Fri as we welcome Carnmore to Abbey for 7pm throw in. Carnmore will bring one U10 team and two U8 teams so plenty of games for all. Then the following Friday we'll host Turloughmore with last group game away to Sylane Friday 28th. The finals will be held in Carnmore as it’s their turn to host the finals day. Our U6 teams will also be involved and play a game on the finals day with is set for September 12th. All players are requested to be present this Friday at 6.45pm in Abbey. Best of luck and enjoy the CATS.

Our U13's are in quarter final Cup action this Monday the 10th away to Athenry in Carnaun. We wish them the best of luck.

U12's await their league semi-final in the coming weeks.

Camogie: Training back to regular slots this week on Wednesday 7pm-8pm and Friday 6pm-7pm.

This week’s fixtures include the U13s at home on Monday v’s Skehana at 6pm and U11’s are at home to St Thomas's on Thursday at 7pm.

Run in the Woods: Sept 5th, 2015 will see the 4th Annual 'Run in the Woods' take place but this year we've a few changes made which hopefully will make for a more enjoyable event. First up, we've brought back the 10km route which for the most part is in the woods with only a short distance being on the road. The 5km route too has changed. We've also changed to a Saturday evening this year and will be holding post-race celebrations on the village green with music and entertainment.

This event is of course an AAI Certified race and has been Jones Counter Measured. There will be official timing with race results being published on our website, Facebook, active.com, Run Ireland and the AAI sites.

Since we started this event we have had a charity partner each year. In 2012 & 2013 the beneficiaries were CONSOLE. Last year it was split between the Abbeyknockmoy Benevolent Fund and Cystic Fibrosis Ireland but this year we have chosen to keep it local and have chosen the Abbeyknockmoy Playground Committee as the beneficiary.

Sponsorship cards are available for anyone who wishes to help further in raising funds for our club and our chosen charity. To get an authorised sponsorship card contact Sharon 085-7074747.

If you wish to fundraise online then contact Gerry Kinane on 087-2559567 who will set up an approved online fundraising page.

Congrats to Paul Flaherty and the Galway intermediates on their All-Ireland win last Saturday evening over Cork in Limerick. Paul lined out at wingback and had a commanding performance over the whole championship. Best wishes to Paul this Sunday and the Galway Senior team in action v’s Tipperary. Good luck also to Caelom Mulry and the Galway minor team who play Kilkenny in the minor All-Ireland replay on Sunday at 12pm in Croke Park.
