Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club will launch a book on Sunday 23rd November which documents the  history of the club from 1953 to the present day. The 300 page, A4 size book tells the story of hurling in the area since 1886 and records the history of the club in a scrapbook format with a comprehensive collection of newspaper match reports, 300 photographs, memorabilia, newspaper clippings and verse and was compiled by Catherine Forde, one of the club’s current treasurers. The book details the history of hurling in Monivea, Crumlin, Brierfield, Belville and Abbeyknockmoy prior to the establishment of the club in 1953, and records the building of the fine facilities available to its members today. The book is divided into chapters covering each decade of activity in the club as well as a chapter on hurling in the National Schools of the parish.  If you have been involved with the Club in any capacity, then you are sure to find a record of your involvement within this book.

The history of Abbeyknockmoy Camogie Club which was initially formed in 1968 and re-established in 2011 is also detailed in the book as is the history of Abbeyknockmoy Handball Club.
