There was no jackpot or match 3 winner in this week's lotto. The numbers drawn were 2, 11, 14 and 18 . Next week's draw for €3,000 will take place in the Woodside Bar.

Congrats to Padraig King who claimed the top prize of €700 in our monthly draw last Monday night and to Mary O'Donnell, Gerry Flaherty and Neil Kilmartin who each won €100. We thank all members who continue to contribute to this fundraising draw. Important club finance meeting this Thursday at 9pm in the clubhouse. All club officers are asked to attend.

Hurling: Intermediates were defeated in their opening championship game at the weekend by Meelick-Eyrecourt on a full time score of 1-15 to 0-14. Abbey led at half time 9 points to 1-4 with all our scores coming from Paul Flaherty from the placed ball and open play. We failed to push on in the second half and Meelick took control on the game. Again Paul was to the fore scoring four of our 5 points with Brian Flaherty the other scorer. The team will be disappointed with their second half performance but have a chance to make amends for it. We now await the open draw which takes place next weekend to find out who we play in two weeks time. Team was: Declan Molloy, Tommy Farragher, Tomas Blade, Stephen Ruane, Coleman Maher, Brian Costello, David Carton, John Blade, Brian Flaherty, Danny Mullins, Paul Flaherty, Eoin Blade, Padraig O'Donnell, Trevor Mullins, Caelom Mulry. Subs used Brian O'Donnell, Ronan Cooley, John Culkin ?????? . Intermediates play Liam Mellows in the City League semi-final this Wednesday a 7p.15m in Ballyloughane. Minors are in championship action this Sunday at 12pm v Mullagh in Abbey. Support as always appreciated.

For the record the results were; Abbeyknockmoy 1-9 Cappataggle 1-3, Abbeyknockmoy 4-4 Kiltormer 0-0, Tommie Larkins 3-9 Abbeyknockmoy 5-0. Throughout the weekend there was fantastic displays and great credit must go to all the players and management for their endeavours and to the supporters who travelled to the games. U-16's are in championship action against Sylane on Thursday at 6.30pm in Abbey.
