There was no jackpot winner in this week's lotto. Congrats to Kathleen Cooke who matched 3 numbers and receives €40. The numbers drawn were 8, 16, 12 and 28. Next week's draw for €2,600 will take place in McGann's Bar.
Congrats to Gerry Farragher who claimed the top prize of €700 in our monthly draw last Monday night and to Mal Dolly, John Mannion and Joyce Laffey who each won €100. We thank all members who continue to contribute to this fundraising draw. If you wish to enter the Monthly draw which entitles you to free family membership please contact Catherine on 087 6900352 to enter the draw.
We thank all who attended our fundraising Texas Hold'em Poker Night last Saturday night in O'Donohoe's with special thanks to the staff at O'Donohoe's Bar & Lounge who provided the facilities and great grub on the night. For the record the results were as follows; Joint 1st Darren Collins and Michael Burke (both elected to split the pot), 3rd Brian O'Donnell, 4th Shane Mullins, 5th Ronan Stephens, 6th Eddie Fahy, 7th David Williams, 8th Sean Hogan.
Hurling: Intermediates were defeated by Tooreen on a score line of 1-8 to 0-12. This is our first defeat in the three games we played in the Tain League. Intermediates enjoyed a good win this morning over Moycullen. A full time score of 2-20 to 2-7 in heavy underfoot conditions. Team was Declan Molloy, Tommy Farragher, Thomas Blade, Stephen Ruane, Coleman Maher, Brian Costello, David Carton, John Blade, Brian Flaherty, Danny Mullins, Paul Flaherty, Eoin Blade, Brian O'Donnell, Trevor Mullins, Caelom Mulry. Subs used Paddy Flaherty, Ronan Cooley, Shane King, Liam McCarthy and Paul Cooley. The result sees us with our 1st points after three games played in the league.  Training Tuesdays and Fridays at 7pm for all adult players. U-21's are in championship action this Saturday at 3.30pm in Killimordaly against Kilconieran. This is a must win game for Brian Flaherty's charges. Support for the lads much appreciated.
Our U-16's played Ballindereen last sat in the 1st round of their championship league, however despite a great come back in the 2nd half Abbey lost out on a score of 2-13 to 2-8. The absence of a few key players limited Abbey's chances but overall gave a good account of themselves. U-16's are in championship against Kinvara in Abbey at 6.30pm this Thursday. U-14's played the 3rd round of championship where they lost to Michael Cusacks on a score of 1-9 to 0-3 points. Their cause was not helped as a few key players were unavailable for the fixture. Despite this handicap Abbey had a great 2nd half where they held Michael Cusacks to 0-3 points. Next game is on Monday the 7th V Cappataggle in Cappataggle at 6.30pm. U-14 training continues Thursday at 7.30pm. U-12 -training continues every Thursday at 6.30pm. U-12's play Mountbellew this Saturday in Mountbellew, throw in time to be confirmed. U-10's are in East Galway League action this Friday V Ballygar in Ballygar at 6.30pm. Underage training for U-6, U-8's and U-10's continues this Sunday from 12.30pm.
Camogie: All under age training this eve from 7-8pm. Registration due so please return forms and payment. Junior B  game against Craughwell was called off at weekend. The next scheduled game is this Saturday V's Carnmore at 6.30pm in abbey.

Did you play in the 7 aside hurling tournaments in the 1970's? Townlands involved were Monivea, Abbert-Ryehill, Laragh, Crumlin, Newtown and Belville. Have you any memories you would like to record in the club book about these games? Please contact Catherine Forde at 087-6900352
Well done to Galway who progressed to the league semi-final after a comprehensive win over Limerick last weekend.
