There was no jackpot winner in this week's Crumlin Park House & Resource Centre Sponsored lotto. Congrats to Frank & Ann Lally, Abbert who matched three numbers and receive €40. The numbers drawn were 3, 6, 9 and 28. Next week's draw for €2,200 will take place in Kelly's

Intermediate final championship group game has been fixed for Saturday September 20th at 4pm in Clarinbridge. Minors were defeated by Padraig Pearse in their championship quarter final in Athenry on Sunday. We never got out of the blocks and were chasing the game from the off. With a well taken point from Colm Flaherty and two pointed frees from Fionnan Garvey left us trailing by 5 at the break 1-5 to 0-3. Padraig Pearses were much the stronger team throughout the game but our lads kept fighting to the end scoring two goals to reduce the deficit to 8 points. Final score Abbey 3-6 Pearse's 4-11 team. Glenn Moran, Dylan Keane, Michael O'Brien, Dylan Moran, Barry Loftus, Caolum Mulry, Phillip Muldowney, Joey Boyle(1-0), Cian Murphy, Liam McCarthy, John McHugh(0-1), Fionnan Garvey(0-4), Colm Flaherty(0-1), Jason Flaherty, Mark McDonagh. Subs Eoin Loftus(2-0), Cathal Cooley, Daniel Kyne, David Mannion. U-15's are in championship action this Thursday at home to Meelick-Eyrecourt with a 6pm throw in. U-12 training continues this Thursday at 7pm. Underage training continues for U-6, U-8's and U-10's this Sunday from 12.30pm.

In Camogie, Congratulations to the Abbeyknockmoy Camogie U10s team who won the North Board Cup Final on Saturday. From start to finish it was a cracking game with great performances from every player. A huge thank you to the parents for the support, to all who came out and showed support for the homecoming and to McGanns for looking after the team that evening. Back to normal now and training continues this Wednesday for all under age teams from 7 - 8pm. The schools competition will be commencing next week with the camogie competition for the Ann & Joe O'Connell Cup & the Bernie Moran Shield running in conjunction with the Fr. O'Brien Hurling competition for the boys. Times etc to be finalised.

The Camogie Club are holding their Annual Car Wash this coming weekend in Abbeyknockmoy, Monivea & Larraghmore. So be sure to bring your cars, vans, tractors & jeeps along, we'll look after them and have them shinning in no time. Congrats to Lucy Van Oosterhaut who won the design a crest competition for  the Canterbury Cusacks, a GAA team in New Zeland. Lucy's design is now proudly displayed on the teams new Jerseys.

The committee of the 'Run in the Woods' would like to thank everyone for their support in what was another very enjoyable day out. Many thanks to Vaughans for hosting us in the lounge for registration and refreshments. Thank you to Garda Mick McDermot for his assistance and guidance on the day. To Mick & all the crew at Coilte for allowing us to use this fabulous location. On the day we had numerous stewards who helped ensure things ran smoothly and to all of you a big thank you. Ensuring all our participants would be looked after was Kevin Tarpey and his fellow Civil defence crew, thank you for your professionalism. No race day is ever complete without photos to look back on and for that we thank John O'Connor, Eirephoto and indeed our own local John Williams of Ballyglunin Photo Studio for the coverage the provided of the day’s events. There's too many to mention but just to say to those who helped in the run up to the day and on the day itself... thank you! You helped pack goodie bags, hung signs, marked out tracks, collected trophies, made tea, manned the water stations, cleaned up, manned registration desks and lots more. A massive shout out to James Lundon from Athenry AC who was a constant source of support & good advice and to Andrew Talbot who provided the official race timing & finish line service for us. Also, we have our sponsors whom we can't thank enough. Some of whom are Galway Water, Unislim, McSharry's Pharmacy, Supermacs. As funds are still coming in we will update our website accordingly with names of sponsors. Finally, to all the runners & walkers who came to support our event we thank you. This is an annual fundraiser not only for the club but also for our chosen charities who this year are the Abbeyknockmoy Benevolent Fund and Cystic Fibrosis. Again, as funds are still coming in we don't yet have figures but once confirmed a cheque presentation will be organised.

The club extends its deepest sympathies to the Quinn family, Brierfield on the death of Mary Quinn, to the Mannion family, Creevaghbawn and Burke family, Ryehill on the death of Maureen.

Congrats to the Monivea-Abbey intermediate team with their championship win last weekend and best of luck to all in this Sunday's semi-final.
