Well done to Monivea N.S who won the Fr. O'Brien Cup last Wednesday when they played against Crumlin/Annagh. This Wednesday Crumlin/Annagh will take on Newtown to play for the Shield title. Throw in at 6:30pm.

'Glory of the Blue & Red' commemorative DVD goes through the history of hurling in the parish with some amazing footage of the surrounding areas, there are interviews with those who were involved in that wonderful County victory in 88 and really will be a collectors item in time to come. This double disc DVD has 3 hours of footage and would make a wonderful gift for anyone at home or abroad. You can purchase online or from any club officer.

In Camogie the schools tournament went into play off's to determine who will play for the Joe & Anne O'Connell (nee Coleman) Cup. Newtown V's Crumlin/Annagh saw Newtown come out the victors, so this week Crumlin/Annagh will play Monivea. The winner of this game goes on to play Newtown in the Cup and the losing team will play Briarfield in the Bernie Moran Shield.
It has to be said thus far that it's a credit to all the schools involved to see such great games being played. Supporters of both teams last week were gripping each other on the sidelines, such was the tension and excitement of the game.
Throw in for this weeks play off game is at 5:30pm

Our U10's won their County Board Summer League semi-final on Friday last when they played at home to Skehana. They are set to face Ahascragh this weekend but fixture not yet confirmed.

Finally, thank you to all the players, parents, sponsors & supporters for the efforts throughout the year. Last Saturday we held our end of season party and great fun was had by all. Thank you to Orla Forde for the wonderful face painting & indeed to Margo who was helping her, it was a tremendous job. The day ran superbly thanks to the hospitality of McGanns Bar and all our volunteers at the club.
