Lotto: This week's lotto numbers 1, 5, 16 and 26. There was no jackpot winner but congrats to Bernard Connolly on being a match three winner, receiving €40. Next week's jackpot for €4,800 takes place in McGann's Bar.

Monthly Draw: August's club monthly draw will also take place next Monday night in McGann's Bar. If you wish to enter the draw either contact Declan on 086-8159309 or visit the club membership page to complete the online entry.

Hurling: Intermediates were defeated this evening in Clarinbridge by Kilnadeema Leitrim on a final scoreline of 1-23 to 0-21. A slow start had Abbey trailing at half time 1-12 to 0-7. A disallowed second half goal late in the half for a earlier infringement on a Abbey player would have put our lads in the lead and in the driving seat but was not to be. Great credit to all players especially in the second half bodes well for championship quarter final next month. Team on the day ; Declan Molloy, Tommy Farragher, David Carton, Gerry Farragher, Stephen Ruane, Brian Flaherty, Paul Cooley, Ronan Cooley, Get Ruane, Padraig O'Donnell, Paul Flaherty, Eoin Blade, Darren Collins, Trevor Mullins, Brian O'Donnell. Subs Adrian McDonnell (for Eoin Blade) & Alan Devane.

Junior championship game v Kinvara was postponed last Firday. The game will be re-fixed for this weekend. Management to confirm details of re-fixture. We currently lie 3rd in the group with 1 remaining game. We along with Clarinbridge (2 games left, 3 points) and Craughwell (1 game left, 4 points) are fighting for 3rd and 4th spot as Kinvara and Salthill-Knocknacarra have guaranteed themselves safe passage to the quarter-finals

U16's triumphed in their county final played in Pearse Stadium last Sunday afternoon defeating Bearna-na-Forbacha 2-12 to 1-10. A first half well taken goal from Colm Flaherty settled this young Abbey team and always looked in control of the game. Match of the match Fionnan Garvey was in tremendous form from open play and from the placed ball. Abbey led 1-06 to 0-5 at half time. Captain Caelom Mulry was dominant in the backs and was ably assisted by his colleagues. At midfield Fionnan and Jason Flaherty excelled delivering quality ball to a threatening full forward line of Colm Flaherty, Liam McCarthy and Mark McDonagh. Joey Boyle was industries throughout the game working extremely hard for the team at half forward. The second Abbey goal scored by Liam McCarthy rounded of a great second half by the full-forward. Glenn Moran , Dylan Keane, John McHugh, Dillon Moran, Barry Loftus, Caelom Mulry, Conor Mannion, Fionnan Garvey, Jason Flaherty, Joey Boyle, Tom Mulry, Lee Cosgrove, Mark McDonagh, Liam McCarthy, Colm Flaherty, Martin Finn, Eric Neilan, Tony King, Cathal Cooley, Philip Muldowney, Eoin Maher, Matt Cosgrove, Dara Coleman, Dillon Reynolds, Jamie Dooley, Alan Cosgrove, Kevin Keary.

U-15 B1 championship will commence on the 9th of September. We are grouped with Ballindereen, Ballygar, Kinvara, Meelick-Eyrecourt, Michael Cusacks, Padraig Pearses & Portumna.

U13 shield semi final v Mullagh has been fixed for this Thursday at 6.30pm in Killimordaly. Best of luck to team and management.

Congratulations to our U10 hurlers who won the C.A.T.S. shield final v Sylane last Saturday in Belclare GAA grounds on a score line of 4-6 to 0-5. Abbey HC invited the CATS (Carnmore, Abbeyknockmoy, Turloughmore & Sylane) but since inception 4 yrs ago we had never won either the cup or shield in either U8 or U10 grade whilst coming close on a few occasions.
