Lotto: Numbers drawn were 3, 20, 22, 26. There was no jackpot winner but well done to Carmel Cooley and Tom King who matched 3 numbers and each receive €40. Next weeks jackpot is €3,900 and the draw will be in Ryans. The Monthly members draw will take place on the same night.

Hurling: Our Intermediate team were in action in the 2nd group game of the championship where they played Leitrim/Kilnadeema on Sunday in Loughrea in a crucial tie where the possibility of a quarter final was at stake for both teams. However Kilnadeema ran out worthy winners. Aided with wind advantage in the 1st half Kilnadeema had the better of the exchanges and while our backs were holding, they took there scores well, where Abbey on the other hand were wasteful with a number of good scoring opportunities (9 in total) missed leaving them an uphill battle by half time where they were behind by 9 points on a score-line of 0-10 to 0-1. On resumption of the 2nd half with wind advantage Abbey picked up their game and narrowed the deficit to 5 points in the 1st few minutes, however the good work was undone where lax defending led to Kilnadeema goal against the run of play. Abbey continued to press and in the next 20 minutes had the better of the exchanges with both teams on parity with 7 minutes remaining where Abbey had scored 2 further goals. Try as they might Abbey failed to press on the advantage and Kilnadeema added on a few points near the end to win on a score of 1-17 to 3-06. To be fair to Abbey they must be commended for their tremendous efforts where the players gave it their all and battled back from a 9 point deficit only to be undone in the end, however they will rue the missed opportunities in the 1st half leaving a monumental hill to climb. Abbey's final game in this stage is against Ballindereen in a few weeks where they have another chance to book a quarter final slot. Training continues on Tue & Fri evening.
Many thanks to Padraig McGann for once again providing food after the game.

Hard luck to the U13's who were defeated by a very strong Killimordaly side on Monday evening. Our next group game is against Tommy Larkins in Woodford on July 1st. Management will confirm fixture details nearer the date.

Well done to all U10's who competed in the East Galway league finals day in Ballinasloe last Saturday whereby the Abbey side beat Pearses. Under age training on this Sunday at the usual time of 12:30. All are welcome.

Well done to Cathal Cooley who has made it to the U14 County development squad.

Camogie: Under age training every Wednesday at 7pm. New players welcome at any stage. We are holding a coaches training session this Wednesday at 8:15pm, so if any parents are interested in attending please feel free to join us. It will only be for 40 mins but it'll give anyone who is interested in volunteering as an assistant the opportunity to see what kinda drills we plan to do in advance for our weekly training sessions.
Junior B/Minors/U16's train every Tuesday & Thursday at 7pm
The club held their annual 'Car Wash' fundraiser last Saturday and are delighted with the level of support shown. Thanks to all who supported and made the day a success. Also, many thanks to Mannions, Cookes and Ryans for letting us use their premises with a special mention to Mattie Ryan who once again handed over the use of his car wash free of charge and covered the diesel costs too. A very generous gesture indeed. Finally, thanks to all who volunteered their services that day.
Well done and best wishes to Leah Tarpey, Roisin Joyce & Sinead Coleman who were selected for the U12 County Development squad. The girls were spotted during their U12 County Final and were called forward by the board.
