Lotto: Numbers drawn were 4, 10, 17, 26. There was no jackpot winner. Well done to Eileen McGann who matched 3 numbers. Next week's draw for €3,000 takes place in O'Donohue's.

Hurling: Minors were defeated by Rahoon/Salthill last Saturday in championship full-time score 2-16 to 2-5.

U-14 played 4th championship game on Monday evening against Oranmore-Maree. Abbey who were without the services of J Joyce, F Ward and E Neilan played against a stiff breeze in the 1st half. Staunch defending by the team and only trailed Oranmore by a goal on a half-time score of 0-2 to 1-2. With wind advantage in the 2nd half Abbey tacked on 1-3 to lead by 3 points in the closing minutes, however a lapse in concentration where they allowed Oranmore in for a well taken goal with the game ending in a draw on a scoreline of 1-5 to 2-2. Abbey are well in contention in the group stages but need to continue to close out the games. Championship action again next week when we play Liam Mellows on Monday at 6.30pm in Ballyloughane.

U-16 and U-10 games were cancelled due to waterlogged pitches.

The U12's played away to Sylane on Tuesday and results will be posted on facebook.  They playing at home in Abbey on Saturday morning at 11am V's Moycullen and then Sunday morning are away to Bearna at 11am. Support for the girls is welcome as always.

The under 10's drew 1 all to Ballygar on Monday evening. Well done girls !

Last Friday the Junior B team played Kilconieron at home in Abbey in the last round of their league games. The Abbey side were up for the challenge having put in the hours at training and were feeling positive even though they've previously been defeated by Kilconieron twice.

The hard work put in by the Abbey side paid off as the match finished Abbey 2-5 to Kilconieron 0-0.  Well done to the team and management.

We now have to wait for the other teams to play out their last rounds and depending on the outcome of those it's possible that Abbey could be in the semi-final play off.

General: Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club and in particular the U10 management team wish to thank St. Jarlaths Credit Union who very kindly sponsored the new U10 kits. We wish them all the best in their new offices.

Deepest symathies to the O'Brien family Monivea on their recent family bereavement.
