Numbers drawn were 4, 7, 15, 22. There was no jackpot winner and only 1 match 3 so well done to Noel Boyle who receives €40. Next weeks jackpot is €6000 and the draw will take place in Kellys Bar, Monivea.

Just a reminder that the 'Glory for the Red & Blue' DVD is still available to purchase through club officers and in the parish shops & cost €25. The double disc DVD which was produced to commemorate the team of 88's victory also looks back over the history of hurling in the parish over the years and captures some fantastic moments. With Christmas just around the corner this DVD would make an ideal gift for anyone involved in the sport or from the parish.

The Hurling Club A.G.M. is on this coming Sunday at 4pm in the hurling club meeting room. All are invited to attend.
Best of luck to the U15's in the County final which is on this weekend but fixture not fully confirmed as of yet.

Our U-16 hurlers were defeated on a score of 0-12 to 2-3 in the Connacht final where they played Easkey (Sligo) in the Connacht Gaa Centre of Excellence, Ballyhaunis last Saturday. The team moral was good, however they were expecting a tough encounter from the Sligo champions who were registering big scores prior to this final. Abbey played against the breeze in the 1st half and both teams with their backs on top had their moments with the Fionnan Garvey scoring a point from a ’65 and the introduction of Cathal Cooley before half-time where he contributed a point from play and a convert free to leave the half time score at 0-5 to 0-3. With the aid of the breeze in the 2nd half, Abbey were in a good position to capitalise, however Easkey to their credit contested every ball with Abbey forwards well marshalled and steadily increased the margin to lead with ten minutes remaining on a score of 0-10 to 0-3. To bolster the attack, Abbey moved Caelum Mulry up front and were rewarded with two goals one from Caelum and a 2nd from Fionnan Garvey, however Easkey held on to win by three points on a final score of 0-12 to 2-3. Overall Abbey did not play to their full potential and will rue some missed chances, however they were frustrated by some questionable refereeing decisions with the three sending’s off bordering on the farcical for a game that was played in the right spirit by both teams. On the day Easkey held their nerve to hold out for the victory and we salute them on their Connacht success.
The club wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Padraig Calpen (Sligo) & the ambulance services for their help in looking after one of our players, it was very much appreciated.
For the record the team was Glenn Moran, Dylan Keane, Caelum Mulry(1-0), Dillon Moran, Barry Loftus, John McHugh, Conor Mannion, Fionnan Garvey(1-1, 1 65’), Jason Flaherty, Joey Boyle, Eric Neilan, Lee Cosgrave, Mark McDonagh, Liam McCarthy, Colm Flaherty(0-1). Subs used: Cathal Cooley(0-1) for McDonagh, Tom Mulry, Eric Neilan, Tony King, Ryan Cosgrove, Philip Muldowney, Dillon Reynolds, Dara Coleman, Matt Cosgrove, Martin Finn, Jamie Dooley
