General: Last Friday saw the much anticipated arrival of the national gameshow 'Who wants to be a Thousandaire' in The Abbey Inn. This show which is run by Pallas Marketing proved to be a very entertaining event. Our 1st contestant up was Michael Coleman who played his round on behalf of our chosen charity, Console. After that 7 more contestants got the chance to play for €1000. Unfortunately no one was lucky enough to get that far all contestants did come away financially better off. We'd like to thank all who supported this event and helped make it the success that it was, especially our 8 main sponsors namely Ryans of Larragh, Newell Roofing, KP Landscapes, Seacon Construction, Water 2U, Harold Engineering, The Abbey Inn & Better Bedding & indeed all the other business owners who took out adverts for the event. We'll be posting photos on facebook during the week.

Congrats to Calem Mulry, Jason Flaherty & Cian Murphy who were part of the victorious Gairmscoil Athenry team who won the All-Ireland Vocational school junior hurling final defeating Causeway CS after extra time last weekend.

Commiserations to Brian Flaherty & his Galway team mates who suffered a league defeat to Tipperary on Monday. Brian came on at half time.

Congratulations to St. Thomas's on winning the All-Ireland Club final on Sunday.
