Numbers drawn were 3, 6, 14, 25. There was no jackpot winner so next weeks jackpot is €4600 and the draw will be in O'Donohoe's. Well done to Gerry Flaherty and Ciara Cooley who matched 3 numbers and each receive €40.

Our U8's and 10's hurlers played Sylane in Abbey last Friday in the 2nd round of the CATS tournament. Our U8's fielded 2 teams and both teams displayed some great skill and competed very well.
Our U10's beat Sylane in a competitive game again with some excellent skills on display. Our remaining game is against Turloughmore which will be played in the next week or so with the Finals day provisionally set for Aug 24th which this year will be hosted by Sylane in their Belclare grounds. Special thanks to Sean Moran and Gerry Farragher for refereeing both games.
U10 panel was: Jamie Burke, Cian Forde, Jamie Collins, James Quirke, Cian Quirke, Michael Molloy, Dara Burke, Mark Crehan, Glenn Kelly, Niall Mannion, Sean Lydon, Niall Farragher, Cillian Rabbitte, Oisin Murphy, Dean Collins, JP Newe, Lennon Doyle, Cian Flaherty, Eoin Bowman, Matthew Lally & Jack Kearney.
U16c Semi Final is on this Thursday in Tuam Stadium at 6:15pm V's Sylane. Support for the team is always very much appreciated.
The U13's Championship finals are commencing in 2 weeks time and we'll notify once the fixture is confirmed. In the meantime a challenge match is going ahead on Thursday in Abbey at 7pm V's Rahoon. The Minors have a championship this Wednesday in Abbey V's Killimor.

Under age training as usual this Wednesday at 7pm. Junior B/U16/Minor training on every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm
Well done to the U10's who played a County Board Summer League game away to Castlegar. The game finished 1 goal a piece, but there was a super effort put in by the Abbey side who've been working hard on their skills. Keep up the good work girls.
Also, well done to the Junior B team who had a good home win over Sarsfields on Monday gone. This was the 3rd round of the group stages in the championship and with us already having 1 loss and 1 win from the previous two games, a win was essential at this stage.
The opening few minutes of the game were dictated by the Abbey side who were determined to be first on the scoreboard and that they did with a point comfortably going over the bar in the 1st few minutes. This went unanswered from Sarsfields and it wasn't long before Abbey buried the ball in the back of the net giving the team an 1-1 to nil advantage. For most of the 1st half Abbey dominated play with a 1-4 advantage to Sarsfields who only got 1 point in before half time.
Facing back into the 2nd half we knew that Sarfields were gonna try get an advantage on us and in fairness to them they came back with some good play in this half and in fact were dominating the game for about 10 mins in which they scored 1-3 but the Abbey defense line tightened in on them and started to win back the ball during which time there were 3 goals scored in close succession along with another 4 points. The full-time score was Abbey 4-8 to Sarsfields 1-4. There's only one game left at this stage which is against St. Thomas but no fixture as of yet. In the meantime training is on Thursday at 7pm

Following the success of last years fundraising event 'Run in the Woods' we are holding it again this year on Sept 1st at 12 noon in Monivea Woods. This years event is a 5km and the route is Jones Counter Measured and AAI permitted. The 5km is open to runners and walkers and entry is €15. Official timing & finish line result is being run by James Lundon of Athenry AC.
This years 'Family Walk' is €20 per family and includes a 5" x 7" photo which will be taken at the finish line to mark the occassion.
The childrens race will be on in the village at aprox 1:30pm and entry is €5. All entries to the childrens race will receive a race certificate and goodie bag plus there's prizes for 1st/2nd/3rd in each age category.
Also, to encourage our GAA members to participate in the run we have a separate category for them with some wonderful prizes.
As with last years race, the funds are going towards furthering our under age development but we will also be making a donation to CONSOLE, the National Suicide Charity, who received a donation of €1200 from last years 'Run in the Woods' and we'd like to think that we can do the same for them again this year.

There are goodie bags and freebies to the 1st 50 online entries
