Lotto: Numbers drawn are 1, 5, 15, 26. There was no jackpot winner but well done to Tom Mitchell and Michael King who both matched 3 numbers so each receive €40. Next weeks jackpot is €3,700 and the draw will be in Morans. Thanks to all who support our weekly lotto and monthly draws, these contribute greatly to the running costs of the club.

Hurling: The Intermediate team were in action last weekend in the 1st round of the group stage where they defeated Oranmore in a very keenly contested game officially by a point on a score of 0-20 to 1-16 and unofficially by 3 points where there was a mix up with the scoreboard. Oranmore to their credit had the better of the exchanges in the 1st half and they were worthy of their 5 point lead at half-time on a score of 1-12 to 0-10. To Abbeys credit they kept with the play, however some sloppy defending gave Oranmore the edge. On resumption the Abbey team increased the tempo and had narrowed the gap to 2 points after 10 minutes. Both sides continued to trade points with confusion of the scoreboard adding to the drama. In the final hectic 10 minutes, the Abbey players could sense victory and fought for every ball to dramatically win by a point. Overall this was a very good team performance with man of the match performances from Paul & Brian Flaherty leading the fray. This leaves the team in good stead to gain a qualification place, however there is room for improvement. Training continues Tuesday & Friday at 7.45pm

The Junior team had a good win over Sarsfield in Killimordaly last Friday where they won on a score line of 1-13 to 2-5. The team overall were the stronger with very good displays from John Culkin and Caolin Blade with Daniel Flaherty unerring from the frees where he scored 0-11 of the sides tally. There is a good possibility the team may be out again this weekend and training continues on Tuesday & Friday.

The U-13 team last week defeated Kinvara in the championship on a score of 4-2 to 1-2, however on Monday on their away game to Mullagh they lost on a score of 4-7 to 3-2 where Mullagh proved the stronger on the day. Abbey had the chances in the 1st half where they could have led at half-time however missed opportunities made it an uphill battle. The 3rd round game in on in Abbey next Monday where we take on Portumna. Training continues this Thursday at 6.45

The U-12 team played Tooreen last Sun morning in the 1st round of the SVL league where they recorded a good win on a score of 5-2 to 0-2. The 2nd round is pencilled in against Skehana this Thursday and details will be sent by text of the times

Well done to the U10's who had another good win on Monday evening over Mountbellew.
