Hurling news: Congratulations to the Under 14's who played Padraic Pearses in a Suck Valley League game on Sunday just gone. The final results of the game were 2-4 to 1-1. Training for U14's continues on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm.

Minor training is on Thursday evening at 6:30pm in preparation for the Championship with starts on Easter Weekend.

U21 hurlers exited the championship last weekend after defeat in Carnmore to Oranmore by 2pts on a score line of 3-12 to 2-13. Abbey were well in the game at half time having played against a stiff breeze and were only a point behind (1-6 to 1-5) considering the concession of a penalty and some needless frees which led to Oranmore scoring 1-5 of their 1st half 1-6 from frees. On resumption Oranmore started the brighter with points from play and again harmless frees conceded but the killer blow of an early Oranmore goal really provided Abbey with an uphill battle. To their credit battle they did and fought back to within a point after creating a goal ourselves. But Oranmore quickly landed another point and held on for victory and so Abbey again exit U21 championship in the early rounds. We felt if we could get over this hurdle that this team might knuckle down and give a commitment but it wasn't to be and once again proves that without commitment and dedication you will be caught out in tight championship matches. The panel captained and led by Brian Flaherty was Dean Keary, Conor Cooley, Eanna Roche, Paul Cooley, Trevor Mullins, Tom Blade, Colman Maher, Cathal Mannion, Colm Mannion, Paul Flaherty, Shane King, Craig Kennedy, Eoin Flaherty, Padraig MacMaighnuis, Joe Conroy, Eoin Blade, Daniel Flaherty, Finbar Conroy, Vinny Lally,Jarlath Moran, Richard Culkin, David Staunton, Stephan Joyce, Alan Devane. Thanks to Seamus McWalter and Michael Coleman for medical assistance over last 2 games. Management Declan Molloy, Keith Ruane, Brian O'Donnell, Padraig O'Donnell, & John Blade.

Under age training for U6's, 8's, 10's & 12's is on this Sunday from 12:30 - 1:30pm.

Camogie news: Under age training commences this eve and will be on every Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:30pm. Please ensure all children are appropriately dressed for training i.e. tracksuit bottoms, runners & warm top and also to bring a hurl & helmet if they have them. There is training as usual for the U12 & U14's on Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:30pm on the main pitch.

General news: Last Sunday saw a great turnout for the under age hurling & camogie registration. There was a fantastic atmosphere on the day as the sun was beaming upon us and children were buzzing with excitement. It was wonderful to see so many children who were eager come to register and play. For those who couldn't make registration on the day, you can still get the forms at training from the relevant team managers. It's very important that your child is registered so please ensure to complete the form and return along with the relevant fee. The club would like to thank all who attended on the day and also a big thank you to those who helped on the day with registration, training, and looking after the teas & coffees.

We still have some places left in the Monthly Members Draw which is a limited number draw & has a guaranteed prize fund of €1,000 every month!
