Abbeyknockmoy Hurling & Camogie are holding a 'Tea Party' on Friday 16th November in The Abbey Inn. To book your place at a table contact 086-8159309. Also, following the 'Run in the Woods' event a cheque presentation is being made to CONSOLE on the night.

Camogie: The Junior B team took part in a 7-a-side tournament run by the North Board on Bank Holiday Monday. The event was being run to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research so the intention of the team was to go & support the cause, have a puck about and a bit of craic. However, after a cracking performance in the 1st half of the first game against Pearses they Abbey side decided to knuckle down in the 2nd half to come out winners with a 6-0 to 1-0 final score. Their 2nd game against Skehana ended in a draw of 3-2 to 2-5. Having won the 1st match and drawn in the 2nd this put Abbey in the top of their group. They went on to play Ballinasloe in the Semi-final but in fairness Ballinasloe were a great side who kept getting the ball over the bar at every opportunity. Ballinasloe won and went on to win the final too, well done and fair play to them. This was a great way to finish off what's been a tough season for the new Abbey team and it's a testament to the hard work put in by the team and management alike to have come away from these games with such good scores. The team on the day was: Caroline Rabbitte, Geraldine McCormack, Teresa Keary, Lesley Keary, Michelle Moran, Aoife McKeogh, Alyse Gallagher, Sharon Gannon & Michelle Joyce.

Over the winter we are developing our U16s team so if anyone is interested in joining Abbeyknockmoy Camogie to train and play with the Club then contact us on abbeycamogieclub@gmail.com or 087-6361836.
