Notices: The presentation of the County & SVL medal to our U-14, U-16 & Minor teams took place last Friday in the Abbeyknockmoy Centre. Special thanks to our guests on the evening, Noel Tracey-- Co. Board Chairman, Michael Hehir-- Hurling Board Juvenile Chairman and Brian Flaherty who all did a presentation and said a few words on the evening, it was much appreciated. Also thanks to all those people who provided the refreshments and who helped out on the evening and Annette Murray for the use of the hall where a good evening was had by all. Congrats to all the players who received medals and we wish them more success in 2012.

The U-14 team commenced the SVL league with their 1st outing against mountbellew last Sunday where Mountbellew won out on the end by 3 points. Training continues on Thur night at 6.30 with possibly a 2nd game next Sun in this competition

A special event is being organised in McGanns Monivea next Saturday night where they are honouring the Monivea Hurling team of 1911 who won the North Board Championship on the 28/01/1912. The final was to be played in early Dec 1911 but went to 28th Jan 1912 exactly 100 years to the day and your support on the night would be much welcomed for those worthy past players.

Last Friday 20th was our 'Festival of Music' fundraiser in the Abbey Inn. The night was a huge success which wouldn't have come together so well if it wasn't for all those who very kindly performed on the night, those who helped in organising the night itself, people who sponsored the spot prizes & of course for all those who supported it by buying tickets. Our sincere thanks to all involved. Funds raised are going towards the underage hurling & camogie.

Congratulations to Michael Tracey & Karen Burns on their recent engagement.

The club wish to offer their condolances to Mary Costello & family whose father Mattie Holian recently passed away and also our deepest sympathies to Tommy Connolly & his family on the death of his wife Margeret. May they Rest in Peace.
