Minor & U-16 training continues this Friday at 6.45pm. Minor final has been fixed for the 16th of October. Time and venue to be confirmed closer to the date.

U-13's lost their semi-final to Annaghdown last weekend on a scoreline of 2-5 to 2-4. Both teams were well prepared for the encounter having come through the group stage strongly. Annaghdown got off to a better start and by mid way in the 1st half were leading 1- 3 to 0-0, however Abbey were not to be out done and had the better of the exchanges where they scored 1- 1 before the half-time and could be further ahead with a great effort by Jamie Dooley. The 2nd half continued with much the same fare with Abbey & Annaghdown trading points, however a well taken goal put Annaghdown in a commanding lead of 3 points in the final 7 minutes, Abbey responded with an excellent 65 by Fionnan Garvey followed up with a good goal by Jason Joyce putting them in to the lead by one point with 4 minutes remaining. In the final frantic minutes, Abbey conceded 2 frees which were duly converted, however time ran out for a gallant Abbey side to lose out on a one point margin. Overall the Abbey players gave it their all with fine individual displays with Jason Flaherty leading the fray. Panel on the day was Dara Coleman, Philip Muldowney, John McHugh, Cathal Murray, Dylan Reynolds, Jason Flaherty, Kevin Keary, Fionnan Garvey, Ryan Cosgrove, Cathal Cooley, Lee Cosgrove, Cathal Cooley, Lee Cosgrove, Albert Dolan, Jamie Dooley, Colm Flaherty, Ross O'Ryan Subs: Matthew King, Keith Boyle, Gavin Cosgrove, Jason Joyce, Eric Neilan, Sean King, Shane Conroy, Kieran Farrelly, Anthony Byrnes, Francis Warde.
