Our fifth monthly Limited Members Draw took place in the Woodside Bar & Lounge, Monivea last Saturday night. First prize winner went to Tomas Cooley receiving €700, and three prizes of €100 each went to Brian Griffin, Sharon Gannon and Christy Daly.

This weeks Lotto was held in Ryan's Bar & Lounge, the numbers drawn were 6, 12, 14 and 27. There were no Jackpot winner, congratulations to Michael King, Junior Newtown and Shane Martyn on being the match three winners. The jackpot now stands at €6,400 and will be held next week in Kelly's Bar next week.

Intermediate have a challenge against Sarsfields this evening in New Inn this evening (Wednesday) at 7pm. Intermediates are in action in the Rathoath Intermediate 11 a-side All-Ireland competition this Saturday. Best of luck to the team and management.

U-16's were in championship action against Annaghdown, Ballindereen and Kiltormer in the last week and early this week, winning all of their games and in doing so top their group. We now progress to the 1/4 finals. Well done to team and mentors. U-13's train this Thursday at 6.30pm in Abbey and play Michael Cusacks in the first round of their championship this Monday at 6.30pm in Abbey. U-10's lost to Carnmore last week in the CATS Go-Games. Panel on the day was Gavin Cosgrove, Jason Joyce, Jack Mannion, Daniel Lydon, Rys Forde, Adam Wynne, Niall Forde, Jayden O'Connor, Cian Quirke, Gearoid Quirke, Ronan Dunleavy, Oisin Quinn and Aaron Quinn. We face Sylane this Saturday evening in Abbey in the CATS Go-Games. Support for all teams in action very much appreciated. Under-age hurling for under 6's, 8's, 10's & 12's Sunday from 12.30 to 1.30 and all are welcome.

Camogie: Congratulations to our U-12 team who've been chosen as one of the clubs to play a match during 1/2 time at the All Ireland Finals in Croke Park on Sunday 11th September. A bus has been organised to depart from the club so if you wish to come along on the day and lend your support to not only our U12's but also the cheer on the Galway Senior Team then contact Sharon on 087-6361836. Please note that places are limited.

The under 12s are playing a match this Friday 2nd September @ 7pm against Kiltormer on the pitch in Abbey, this is the last of their mini-league games and the result will determine if they go on to play in the semi-finals. Please do come along and support them if possible

Training for U8, U10 & U12 groups as usual on Wednesday evening from 7 - 8pm.

Coaching the Coaches: A course will be run on Saturday 24th September from 10am - 3pm at the club and costs € 20. The course covers a broad spectrum and is a minimum requirement for all coaches and managers as part of the Croke Park directive. As with all courses numbers are limited so please contact Sharon on 087-6361836 to book your place.

Well done to Caelom Mulry who was selected at wing back with the Galway U-14 team at the annual Tony Forrestial National Under 14 Hurling Tournament last weekend in Waterford. Best of luck to Paul Flaherty & the Galway minor hurling team this weekend in the All-Ireland minor final. Congratulations to Tom Ryan on saddling the winner Man Of Class in the Australian Grand National Steeplechase recently.
