Our Scrap collection continues for the final weekend, the last couple of weekends have gone very well, we would like to thank everyone who supported us, we are going to continue collection for the coming week. If you have any old Scrap that you want to get rid of please contact any club officer and we will arrange collection. All scrap accepted especially old batteries, lead and copper.

There was no jackpot winner in this week's Lotto. Congratulations to Russell Miller, Margaret Fleming and Michael King on this weeks match three winners. The numbers drawn were 9, 13, 19 and 21. Next week's draw takes place in O'Donohue's, jackpot €3,800. Supporters are encouraged to avail Direct Debit as a convenient means of playing the club's Lotto on a weekly basis; the direct debit mandate can be downloaded from the club website.

Intermediate and Junior training continues this evening (Wednesday) at 7.30pm sharp. Intermediate league round 1 has been fixed for this Sunday at 12pm in Abbey versus Loughrea.

U-21's enjoyed a comfortable win in the first round of their championship, defeating Kiltormer last Saturday in Ballinasloe on a scoreline of 4-19 to 0-8. Team on the day was Dean Keary, Eanna Roche (Conor Cooley), Danny Mullins, Thomas Blade, Joseph Conroy, John Blade Capt., Colman Maher, Padraic MacMainis (0-1), Paul Flaherty (0-1), Danny Collins (0-1) (Shane King (1-0)), Brian Flaherty (1-12), Trevor Mullins (0-1) (Vinny Lally), Caolin Blade (1-0) (Johnny Flatherty), Eoin Flaherty (1-1), Eoin Blade (0-2) (Adrian McDonnell). Subs; Conor Cooley, Shane King, Vinny Lally, Adrian McDonnell, Johnny Flaherty, David Keane, Niall Murphy, Kevin Divilly. U-21 and minor training continues this Friday evening at 7.30pm. U-21's face Carnmore this Saturday afternoon at 3.30pm in Athenry in our next championship match. Support for the lads appreciated. U-14's and minors drew with Tooreen in the third round SVL. The final score ended 6 points a piece. Management to confirm time and venue of this weekends SVL games. We would be appreciative if spare underage helmets could be returned to the club to sell on to the up and coming hurlers in the club.

Underage indoor camogie continues this Wednesday from 6-7pm for 2nd, 3rd and 4th class girls and from 7-8pm for 5th and 6th class girls at the club grounds. Coaching by Caroline Murray current Galway camogie star. Anyone interested in helping out or if you know of anyone interested there is a brief meeting this evening at 6.30pm during training to plan and develop what is looking like a very interesting time for Camogie in the Parish. Please come along.

Club membership is due and can be submitted to any club officer; membership is set this year at €50 per adult player, €30 per student adult player, €20 per ordinary member and underage is as follows €20 for 1st Child, €15 for 2nd child, and €10 for third child in one family.

Handball membership is now due for the use of the Handball alley. Patrons can either pay €60 for the year's membership or avail of membership through buying the weekly hurling lotto ticket through direct debit. Application forms can be obtained through any club official or at the handball alley. The indoor handball alley accommodates alternative games such as racket ball, squash, etc. contact any club officers for details of available times, etc, email the club abbeyknockmoyhurling@gmail.com or simply log on to the website.

Underage handball for 4th, 5th and 6th classes continues this Monday evening in the indoor alley from 7-8pm for the upcoming national school competitions.

The club would wish that cups that were presented to the club over the previous year's be returned to any club officer so they can be put on display at the club grounds.

Commiserations to our local candidate Michael F. Dolan, but congratulations to Paul Connaughton, Michael Kitt, Ciaran Cannon and Colm Keaveney on their election as TD's for Galway East. Best of luck to Cosa Beoga in the semi-finals of the All-Ireland Talent Show this Sunday.
