Our Feile 2011 hurling team enjoyed a memorable weekend last weekend culminating in a gut wrenching loss to Padraig Pearses in the Division 4 Final, final score 3-4 to 2-5. Abbey were the more dominant team but it was the missed chances in both halves that were to be rued. To both teams credit it was the best final on show on Sunday as commented throughout the day on Galway Bay FM. No-one was sure who would triumph until the final whistle. Congratulations to the team and Management who prepared superbly for the games, 5 in all over three days. Many thanks to the great support who turned out in the wind, rain and sun to cheer on this great team that fought to the bitter end. Thanks to all the parents for hosting parents and kids from Ballina, making sandwiches, dropping and collecting kids, washing gear etc. Many thanks to McGanns for catering so well for all over the weekend, Padraig Keane buses for transportation throughout the weekend, Una Langan for attending all injured players over the three days and finally to Aidan Flaherty and Sinead Garvey for all their organising and co-ordinating which helped everything run so smoothly.
