Intermediates face Turloughmore this evening (Wednesday) in the Reeves Cup in Lackagh. Throw in at 7.30pm. The Junior hurlers were in action last Sunday in Ahascragh against Kilimordaly in the fourth round of the championship group stages in a must win game to keep involvement in the competition. Abbey who were a bit depleted owing to some injuries elected to play with the breeze in the 1st half got into the fray fairly quickly with some very good scores taken by Conor Cooley & Eoin Blade to leave a half time score line of 0-8 to 0-3. With Abbey facing in to the breeze in the 2nd half the lead appeared slender, however the team responded with some excellent defending, only conceding one point and tagged on a further 1-4 to recorded a good win on a score line of 1-12 to 0-4. Overall this was a very good team performance through out with all players giving it one hundred percent. For the record the team was Mark Flaherty, Sean O'Donnell, Keith Higgins, Nigel Keary, Paddy Flaherty, Gerry Farragher, Thomas Blade, Darren Blade, Damien Blade, Shane King, Conor Cooley (0-4), Rob Lally (0-1), Daniel Collins (0-1), Eoin Blade (1-6, 4f), Vinny Lally.
