The Club held their AGM last Sunday in Abbeyknockmoy which was well attended. The Chairman, Pat Cooley, in his opening address complemented all the people for their help during the course of the year in running the club activities from team preparation, fundraising, maintenance of club property etc. He thanked all those people who contributed financially to the club whether it be through sponsorship, purchase of tickets etc. On the sporting front, while it wasn't as successful as he wished, he contended good progress was made in all grades overall and bodes well for the future, and complimented the minors on winning the SVL and U 16's on reaching their championship final. Pat also congratulated all Schools who took part in the Fr. O'Brien Parish School Hurling Competition which was a great spectacle, and wished to thank all those who made it so successful, its a competition that can go from strength to strength in the coming years. Congratulations were offered to Brian Flaherty and his Galway U 21 team mates on reaching the All Ireland Final, Paul Flaherty on making the Galway minor team, Caoilin Blade & Dean Keary making the Galway U 16 team. In his closing address, sympathy was offered to all those who had bereavements in the past year and also wished a speedy recovery to those who are ill at this time and wishes all well for the coming year.

The secretary's report, given by Michael Coleman, gave a detailed report of all club activities over the course of the year from performance of all teams from Intermediate to the u 6s, fundraising activities, club development programmes. He complimented all managers and selectors for their work in team preparation, the players for their efforts, especially those involved in the under age where more emphasis and help is required in promoting the game. He thanked all those people who contributed financially to the club during the year and hoped going forward they will continue to do so as the costs of running a club are high. In his closing address, he thanked all fellow officers, workers etc. who contributed enormously to the smooth running of the club in 2010.

The treasurers report, given by Declan Molloy, gave a detailed account of the clubs income & expenditure for the year. He thanked all who contributed financially and continue to support our local lotto which stands at €3,100 and all those who supported our fund raising activities in the past year. Declan also introduced our new fundraising draw, that will take place every month that will guarantee 4 winners each month, 1st prize €700 and 3 prizes of €100 each. It will have a limited number of participants so your chances of winning in each monthly draw will be set. The cost to participate in this monthly draw is €20 per month by standing order from your bank account. The previous draw proved very popular due to the limited number of entries and the guarantee of 4 winning entries each monthly draw, so over a year there would be 48 winners. The standing order mandate can be downloaded from the club website from this weekend on or by contacting any club officer. Gerry Flaherty paid tribute to the trojan work being done by the club to keep finance on a tight rain and special praise to Declan who does has done a lot of the behind the scenes work over the last number of years.

Club PRO Brian O'Donnell thanked the local media outlets, in particular the Tuam Herald, for their coverage of the club's activities in 2010.

Outgoing President Joe Coleman confirmed that Raymond Moloney of Raymond Moloney Plant & Agri Hire Belleville, Monivea would be proud to be the club's main sponsor this year. It was also confirmed Sean O'Donohue of O'Donohue Bar, Lounge and Shop, Abbeyknockmoy, for his continued sponsorship. Sean was thanked for providing food and refreshments after our championship match's last year.

All team managers gave their respective team reports on the games during the course of the year.

Underage AGM has been scheduled for Wednesday the 19th of January at 8pm in the clubhouse

There was no jackpot winner in this weeks Joe Coleman Roofing Carpentry Sponsored Lotto. Congratulations to Mattie Treacy, Padraig Mannion, Jack Rourke, Eanna Maher and Ger Cooke on being this weeks match 3 winners. The numbers drawn were 2, 4, 6 and 24. Next weeks draw takes place in Ryan's, jackpot €3,100. Supporters are encouraged to avail Direct Debit as a convenient means of playing the club's Lotto on a weekly basis, the direct debit mandate can be downloaded from the club website.

The club would like to congratulate John Williams on being inducted to the Connacht Handball hall of fame. Handball membership is now due or the use of the Handball alley. Patrons can either pay €60 for the years membership or avail of membership through a buying the weekly hurling lotto ticket through direct debit. Application forms can be obtained through any club official or at the handball alley.

The club would wish that any cups that were presented to the club over the previous years be returned to any club officer so they can be put on display at the club grounds.

The club extends its sympathies to the Joyce family, Belleville on the recent death of Jimmy Joyce, London. Jimmy hurled with the club in the late 50's and early 60's.
