The Club held their AGM last Sunday in Abbeyknockmoy which was well attended. The Chairman, Martin Treacy, in his opening address complemented all the people for their help during the course of the year in running the club activities from team preparation, fundraising, maintenance of club property etc. He thanked all those people who contributed financially to the club whether it be through sponsorship, purchase of tickets etc. On the sporting front, while it wasn't as successful as he wished, he contended good progress was made in all grades overall and bodes well for the future, and complimented the minors on winning the SVL and the City League, U-14's on reaching their championship final and the U-12 team on winning their Connacht Title as well as their fine displays in the Croke Park Blitz where they won 4 of their 6 games. Martin also congratulated all Schools who took part in the Fr. O'Brien Parish School Hurling Competition which was a great spectacle, and wished to thank all those who made it so successful, its a competition that can go from strength to strength in the coming years. Congratulations were offered to Brian Flaherty for his fantastic displays for the Galway Minor Hurling team on their march to All-Ireland glory as well as representing Galway Minor Footballers, Paul Flaherty and his displays for the Galway U-16 team and Brian Costello for his part in the Galway hurling senior squad. In his closing address, sympathy was offered to all those who had bereavements in the past year and also wished a speedy recovery to those who are ill at this time and wishes all well for the coming year.

The secretary's report, given by Michael Coleman, gave a detailed report of all club activities over the course of the year from performance of all teams from Intermediate to the u-6s, fundraising activities, club development programmes. He complimented all managers and selectors for their work in team preparation, the players for their efforts, especially those involved in the under-age where more emphasis and help is required in promoting the game. He thanked all those people who contributed financially to the club during the year and hoped going forward they will continue to do so as the costs of running a club are high. In his closing address, he thanked all fellow officers, workers etc. who contributed enormously to the smooth running of the club in 2009.

The treasurers report, given by Declan Molloy, gave a detailed account of the clubs income & expenditure for the year. He thanked all who contributed financially and continue to support our local lotto which stands at € 5,500 and all those who supported our fund raising activities in the past year.

All team managers gave their respective team reports on the games during the course of the year.

For the record the club officers elected for the coming year are as follows: President- Joe Coleman, Chairman- Pat Cooley, V.Chairman -Brian Griffin, Secretary- Michael Coleman, Asst.Sec.- Tony Smyth, Treasurer- Declan Molloy, Asst.Treasurer- Keith Ruane & Gerry Farragher, PRO- Brian O Donnell, Club delegates, Sean Moran, Brian Griffin & Martin Treacy, Child Welfare Officer-Keith Higgins

Team Managers: Intermediate- TBC at a later date, Junior A- Pat Cooley, U-21- Brian O Donnell, Minor- Tony Smyth, U-16- Aidan Flaherty. There will an adult players meeting this Sunday at 7pm in the clubhouse, all players are asked attend this important meeting.

Underage AGM 23rd of January at 7pm in the clubhouse. We would be delighted if all parents and patrons would attend this meeting.

Their was no jackpot or match three winner in last Monday nights draw. The numbers drawn were 1, 22, 26 and 27. Next weeks draw takes place in O'Donohue's, jackpot €5,500. Last weeks numbers were 1, 21, 25 and 28, there was one match three.

The club extends its sympathies to the Lane, Forde, Williams, Shaughnessy and Finn families on their recent family bereavements.
