There was no jackpot winner in this weeks Joe Coleman Roofing & Carpentry Sponsored Lotto. There were 2 match three winning tickets, congratulations to Chris Carey (one ticket winner), Cyril Lane and Liam Collins (shared ticket winners). The numbers drawn were 4, 8, 22 and 28. Next weeks draw takes place in the McGann's with starting jackpot €1,600. Supporters are encouraged to avail Direct Debit as a convenient means of playing the club's Lotto on a weekly basis, the direct debit mandate can be downloaded from the club website.

Abbeyknockmoy defeated Castlegar last Sunday evening in the replayed Pre-lim Q-final held in Turloughmore. A large crowd gathered to watch a more improved Abbey who always looked comfortable after a well taken early goal from Paul Flaherty, set the us on our way to victory. Abbey led 1-05 to 0-4, first half points coming from Brian Cooley, Brian Flaherty and John Culkin. Abbey increased their lead early in the second half and at one stage led by 10 points, two late goals from Castlegar brought them within 5 points. Full-time scoreline read 2-05 to 1-13. For the record the team was Declan Molloy, Richie Fox, Tommy Farragher, David Carton, David Coleman, Kieran Flaherty, Padraig O'Donnell, John Culkin (0-2), Ronan Cooley, John Blade, Brian Flaherty (0-06, 3frees), Ger Ruane, Paul Flaherty (1-01), Brian Cooley (0-03), Colman Maher(0-1). Sub: Brian O'Donnell, Cathal Coleman (0-01), Danny Mullins. We now look forward to a quarter final game v Kilconieran this Saturday at 4.30pm in Athenry.

Hard luck to the U16 Hurlers who after a very good year were in hard luck on sat last being defeated by Moylough Mountbellew on a score of 1-10 to 8pts . The team was D. Keary 0-1, S. King, J. Burke, E. Flaherty, S. Joyce, N.Garvey, P. Cooley, J. Moran (0-2), Brendan Brennan, A. McDonnell, B. Melia, C. Mannion, D. Flaherty (0-3), C. Blade, E. Loftus (0-2,) A. Devane, S. Miller, M. O'Brien. Kenneth Garvey , Barry Loftus Cathal Laheen , M.Mills We wish a speedy recovery to our injured players Kenneth Garvey, Cathal Laheen. The Team would like to thank Aidan Flaherty, Brian Cooley & David Carton for all they have done during the year. Congrats to Mountbellew team and management on winning same.

The Fr O'Brien Cup final is on this Monday in Abbey, where Crumlin take on Monivea. The losing team in the Cup final will go forward to the Shield final where they will meet Newtown, this final is to be played on Wednesday evening. Overall the standard of competition is excellent and again your support is much appreciated.

U-10's take part in the Garda Tournament Blitz this Saturday at 10am in Mountbellew. On Sunday U-10's & U-8's challenge Moycullen in Abbey with throw in at 12.15pm

Our 100 club member fundraising draw took place in O'Donohue's last Sunday night. Main Jackpot winner went to David Coleman who received the €1,000 top prize, the five €100 winners were Michael Coleman, Ronan & Kathleen Cooley, Siobhan Barrett, Michael Langan and Sean O'Donohue. There was also two Lucky Dip winners in Brendan Cummins and Brendan Geraghty each received a bottle of whiskey. We thank all who took part in the draw and look forward to your continued support in these challenging times both on and off the field.

There are some photo's uploaded from the 1950's & 1960's underage and adult teams of the time.
