Their was no jackpot winner in the Joe Coleman Roofing & Carpentry Sponsored Lotto last Monday night. Congrats to Mary & Matt Flaherty on being this week's match three winner. The numbers drawn were 5, 9, 23 and 28. Next weeks draw takes place in Mannion's, jackpot €6,600. Supporters are encouraged to avail Direct Debit as a convenient means of playing the club's Lotto on a weekly basis, the direct debit mandate can be downloaded from the club website.

We are holding a Fundraising event on the 4th of April in O'Donohue's Bar & Lounge. Tickets are on sale for €20. First prize is €2,000, second €500 and there will be five €100 prizes. Tickets are on sale now from club officials and players, your continued support is welcomed and appreciated.

In conjunction with the Monivea/Abbey Football Club and Ladies Football Club, Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club are holding a Parish GAA Social in the Claregalway Hotel on the 20th of April honouring the 1960 Junior Hurling County Championship Team, the 1985 Intermediate Hurling County Championship Team, presentations will be made to the current Intermediate Hurling Team for their City League Success and runners up medals from the Intermediate League 2008 as well as the football honouring teams of past and present. Tickets for €25 are on sale from this weekend from club delegates in what should be a great night for all parish GAA supporters. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Ger Cooke.

There is a Club Social Meeting this Thursday at 9.30pm in the clubhouse, all club officials and management are requested to attend.

Intermediates drew with Kilconieran in their first league game of the season 1-13 to 0-16. Team on the day, Tony Smyth, David Carton, Brian Cooley, Colm Flaherty, Brendan Burke, Brian Costello, Padraig O'Donnell, Ronan Cooley, John Blade (0-1), Tomas Diskin, Brian O'Donnell (0-3), Brian Flaherty (0-7), Darren Collins (0-1), John Culkin (0-3), Paddy Flaherty. Subs used Eoin Blade (0-1) for Paddy Flaherty. Abbey were best served on the day by David Carton, Brian Costello, John Blade, Ronan Cooley, Brian Flaherty, Brian O'Donnell and John Culkin. Intermediate & Junior training continues Wednesday at 8pm and Sunday at 10.30am.

Minor & U-16 training this Thursday at 8pm sharp. Minors won the Suck Valley League/O'Callaghan Cup defeating Padraig Pearses 2-04 to 1-05. Team on the day was Dean Keary, David Finnerty, Eanna Roche, Niall Murphy, John Burke, Tom Blade, Colm Mannion, Sean McCarthy, Paul Flaherty (0-3), Daniel Collins, Padraig MacMainis (1-0), Craig Kennedy, Daniel Flaherty, Vinny Lally, Eoin Blade (1-1), subs; David Keane, Brian Melia and Jarlath Moran. Well done to the team and management on this success and thanks to the Suck Valley Committee for their staging of the Cups. Minor championship starts in the coming weeks.

Round 1 of the Under 14 Feile commences this weekend, we are down to play Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry in Tynagh 11pm Saturday morning. Management to confirm travel arrangements, etc. in the coming days. Under-age hurling for under 8's,10's & 12's continues this Sunday from 12.15 to 1.30 and all are welcome. Registration forms will be provided on the day. We would be appreciative if spare underage helmets could be returned to the club to sell on to the up and coming hurlers in the club.

Commiserations to the Athenry Vocational School on their All-Ireland Vocational Schools 'A' semi-final loss to Causeway Comprehensive School, especially to our club representatives Paul Flaherty, Sean McCarthy, Vinny Lally, David Finnerty and Richard Culkin. Commiserations also to the Presentation College Athenry on their semi-final defeat to St. Kierans, Kilkenny.

We wish Helen Forde a speedy recovery from her recent operation and congratulations to her son Kieran Forde on his European championship boxing medal.
