There was no jackpot or match three winner in the Joe Coleman Roofing & Carpentry Sponsored Lotto last Monday night. The numbers drawn were 3, 18, 23 and 26. Next weeks draw takes place in the Woodside, jackpot €2,200. Supporters are encouraged to avail Direct Debit as a convenient means of playing the club's Lotto on a weekly basis, the direct debit mandate can be downloaded from the club website.

Intermediates are through to the city league final after defeating Oranmore-Maree 1-17 to 1-12 in Maree last Friday night. We now look forward to a City League Final versus Rahoon Newcastle in Pearse Stadium this evening (Wednesday) at 7.30pm. Your support for the lads is very much appreciated. Intermediate team versus Oramore-Maree was; Declan Molloy, David Carton, Tommy Farragher, Richie Fox, David Coleman, Brian Costello, Padraig O'Donnell, Ronan Cooley, John Culkin, John Blade, Brian Cooley, Brian Flaherty, Brian O'Donnell, Kieran Flaherty,Danny Mullins. Sub used Danny Collins.

Last Saturday Abbeyknockmoy Hurling club were invited to Causeway GAA Club (Kerry) to commemorate the late Joseph and Anne O'Connell RIP. Our intermediates played Causeway seniors in what was a very entertaining hurling match, which went to extra time before Abbey hit a vital goal to run out winners. The shield was presented to Abbey captain Ronan Cooley who thanked Causeway for the invitation and hoped this would be an annual affair with Causeway coming to Abbeyknockmoy next year. A plaque was unveiled by the O'Connell and Coleman families in remembrance of Joe & Ann. Former GAA president Sean Kelly presided over the commemoration. The club wish to thank the people of Causeway and Causeway GAA for their hospitality before during and after the game.

Minors drew with Liam Mellows last Tuesday week in their fourth championship group game on a scoreline of 2-07 to 0-13. We are undefeated to date in the championship with 2 wins and 2 draws. Our remaining group game is against Cappataggle, time, date and venue to be confirmed by management for this fixture. In wet conditions both teams put on a great performances, we trailed at half time to 2-03 to 0-5 but recovered well in the second half to draw the level and keep us undefeated. Minor team was; Dean Carey, Eanna Roache, Tomas Blade, Kevin Divilly, Johnny Burke, Paul Flaherty (0-8), Finbarr Conroy, Padraic MacMhaighnis (0-1), Colm Mannion, Eoin Blade (0-2), Lorcan Laheen, Craig Kennedy, Sean McCarthy, Vinny Lally, Caoilin Blade (0-2). Subs used Daniel Collins, Brian Melia. Subs; Niall Murphy, Richard Culkin, David Finnerty, Kenneth Garvey, Shane King, Cathal Laheen and Ja Moran. Minors received their presentations on winning the Suck Valley League last Friday night in Haydens Hotel, Ballinasloe congrats to the team and their management. Well done to Tomas Blade received the man of the match accolade for his performance in the final.

The club have organised a Bucking Bronco Rodeo night for Wednesday the 28th of July in the Abbey Inn. Events on the night include a Rodeo Bull Bucking Bronco, Inflated Sumo Wrestling, Gladiator Jousting & a 40ft Dual Bungee Run. MC and entertainment provided by Ger Cooke. The event kicks off at 8pm until late, with underage catered for from 8pm until 9.30pm on the events. Admission is €10 with all proceeds going to Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club and all are welcome.

Under-age hurling for continues for all other age groups to U-12 level this Sunday from 12.30 to 1.30 and all are welcome. We would be appreciative if spare underage helmets could be returned to the club to sell on to the up and coming hurlers in the club.
