Their was no jackpot winner in the Joe Coleman Roofing & Carpentry Sponsored Lotto last Monday night. Congratulations to Michael Flaherty, London on his match three win. The numbers drawn were 6, 7, 9 and 27. Next weeks draw takes place in McGann's, jackpot €1,600. Supporters are encouraged to avail Direct Debit as a convenient means of playing the club's Lotto on a weekly basis, the direct debit mandate can be downloaded from the club website.

Our Fundraising event has been rescheduled for Sunday 2nd of May. Tickets are still on sale for €20 from club officials and players, your continued support is welcomed and appreciated.

Our Parish GAA social in conjunction with the Monivea/Abbey Football Club and Ladies Football Club, Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club took place last Saturday night in the Claregalway Hotel in what was a fantastic night with in excess of three hundred people in attendance. In all we honored and celebrated the 50th & 25th anniversaries of four past Co. champions namely 1960 Junior Hurling, 1983/84 Minor football, 1985 Junior football and 1985 Intermediate hurling. In addition League medals were presented to 2009 Ladies Junior football, 2009 Intermediate football and 2008/2009 Intermediate hurling. Special presentations were also made to Declan Treacy & Gerry Moore and club person of the year Alan Treacy by Ladies football, Club person of the year Michael Brennan by Monivea/Abbey football club and Sean Moran on refereeing Co final in 2008 and Brian Flaherty on winning the Co. Minor All-Ireland medal by Abbey Hurling club. We would like to thank officers of the three clubs and organizing committee for there very hard work in putting the event together. Special thank to the Claregalway Hotel with special reference to Nora Gill & staff for there excellence in hosting the event. The evening was made all the more special by the professionalism of Ger Cooke who provided the music and photography and Tommy Devane who compeered the evening, a big thank you to both, it was very much appreciated. We hope everyone had an enjoyable evening and congrats to all the recipients.

Training continues Wednesday at 7.30pm for all adult players. Minor & U-16 training this Thursday at 7pm sharp. Intermediates defeated Oranmore-Maree last Thursday evening in Oranmore on a final scoreline of 3-12 to 0-10. Team was as follows; Declan Molloy, David Carton, Tommy Farragher, Richie Fox, Ger Ruane, Brian Costello, Brendan Burke, Ronan Cooley, John Blade, Brian O'Donnell, Padraig O'Donnell, Brian Flaherty, Paul Flaherty, Kieran Flaherty, Colman Maher. Subs used Stephen Ruane, Tomas Diskin, Sean McCarthy and Danny Mullins. Intermediates are fixed to play Castlegar in the league in Abbey at the weekend. Juniors are fixed to play Athenry in the league in Athenry at the weekend. Management to confirm time and date of both fixtures.

Minors defeated Kinvara in our first group game last Saturday evening on a scoreline of 6-18 to 0-6. Team on the day was Dean Keary, David Finnerty, Eanna Roche, Niall Murphy, Cathal Laheen, Paul Flaherty, John Burke, Colm Mannion, Padraic MacManius, Daniel Collins, Sean McCarthy, Craig Kennedy, Caoilin Blade, Vinny Lally, Eoin Blade. Subs used David Keane, Richard Culkin, Kenneth Garvey, Jarlath Moran and Cathal Mannion. Minor & U-16 training continues Thursday evening at 7.30pm.

Under-age hurling for under 8's,10's & 12's continues this Sunday from 12.30 to 1.30 and all are welcome. Registration forms will be provided on the day. We would be appreciative if spare underage helmets could be returned to the club to sell on to the up and coming hurlers in the club.
