Final preparations are being made by committee, management and players in anticipation to what can only be acknowledged as the biggest day for the parish in sporting terms. The buzz around the parish is full of excitement as supporters of all ages make their plans to be at Croke Park at 3:45pm next Sunday to cheer on our Intermediate hurlers in the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Final against Bennettsbridge of Kilkenny. On behalf of the hurling club, the AHC committee would like to wish Brian, Ger, Keith, Barney, Johnny, backroom team and especially the players and extended panel the very best of luck on the day. A lot of work has been going on off the training field in getting this team ready for All-Ireland Final action. A massive thank you to all the ladies who prepared cakes, buns and pastries for the cake sale held last weekend in Monivea and Abbey hall. It was a highly successful event and thanks to all who supported. In addition there are also ‘Final Score’ prediction cards in all the shops and pubs throughout the parish where you could land a nice cash prize for predicting the future!
