The Camogie Club held their A.G.M on Sunday gone and throughout the course of the evening from the chairman's address to the managers reports it was all positive.
Both the Chairman & Secretary between them thanked the coaches, managers, helpers, parents & supporters for all they've done throughout the year. Special thanks were also made to our sponsors, for whom we are very grateful for their continued support. They looked back on the achievements of the club both on and off the pitch during 2013.
During the year attendance was high and it's great to see that the players are so enthusiastic, they want to train and they want to play...long may this continue.
The Galway Senior & Intermediate camogie teams were congratulated on their success and they thanked Tony Ward and the girls for coming to the end of season party with the cups. It's always a great boost to the younger players when they get to meet players of such distinction.
There was no treasurers report given as this is being compiled as part of the main Hurling Club AGM on the 24th.
Each manager gave a report on their teams performance during the year and the feedback from all teams was extremely positive.

Under age training continues every Wednesday from 7pm. Junior B/Minor/U16's every Tuesday & Thursday at 7pm.
Well done to the U12's who had a win last week v's Kilconieron.
Hard luck to the Junior B's who lost their 1st round championship game last Friday to Mullagh. The 1st ten minutes of the game saw Mullagh get a 2-2 lead on Abbey and they were well in possession of the ball but a bit of grit and determination from the Abbey side saw them score 2-2 with Mullagh only scoring another point before the half time whistle. In the second half however Mullagh were clearly out to put some distance between the scores with 3 goals almost in succession. The Abbey side tried to get past their defense but only managed to gain a point before Mullagh closed in with 2 more goals. However the game then took a turn the last 10 mins as Abbey got a 2nd wind and went at them scoring two more goals and an attempt which went wide. Mullagh retaliated with another goal but Abbey finished off the game with another point and a goal before the final whistle. Full time score Abbey 5-4 to Mullagh 8-2.
Next round of championship yet to be confirmed.

Under age training as usual every Wednesday at 7pm. New players always welcome. Junior B/Minor/U16 training every Tues & Thurs at 7pm.
Well done to our U12s who had a win last week against Sylane and well done to our U14s who had a good win over Ahascragh/Fohenagh Monday evening with a final score of 4-5 to 1-2. With the North Board games kicking off now it's important that all players make training.
Our U10's have started up an extra session whereby the groups are training on a Friday. We are breaking them into smaller groups so that we can work on their skills so a text will go out from management every week to confirm what group they are taking. If you've any questions on this contact Damien 086 0698619 or Sean 087 9796804.

Under age training every Wednesday at 7pm. New players welcome at any stage. We are holding a coaches training session this Wednesday at 8:15pm, so if any parents are interested in attending please feel free to join us. It will only be for 40 mins but it'll give anyone who is interested in volunteering as an assistant the opportunity to see what kinda drills we plan to do in advance for our weekly training sessions.
Junior B/Minors/U16's train every Tuesday & Thursday at 7pm
The club held their annual 'Car Wash' fundraiser last Saturday and are delighted with the level of support shown. Thanks to all who supported and made the day a success. Also, many thanks to Mannions, Cookes and Ryans for letting us use their premises with a special mention to Mattie Ryan who once again handed over the use of his car wash free of charge and covered the diesel costs too. A very generous gesture indeed. Finally, thanks to all who volunteered their services that day.
Well done and best wishes to Leah Tarpey, Roisin Joyce & Sinead Coleman who were selected for the U12 County Development squad. The girls were spotted during their U12 County Final and were called forward by the board.

Under age training as usual every Wednesday from 7 - 8pm.

U16/Minor/Junior B training every Tuesday & Thursday at 7pm. With the championship only round the corner all players are required to attend training.

Saturday gone was a great day for Abbeyknockmoy Camogie as we got our 2nd piece of silverware for the club this year. Our Under 12's played against Moycullen on Saturday and came out victorious in what was a really good, action packed and skillfully played game. It's a great outcome for our Abbey girls and it goes without saying that it wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the hard work put in by the coaches and players during the year.

Our U's hosted their 1st blitz this year with Tuam and Ballygar attending. It was a great day for all who attended as these promising young players hurled with great determination and respect for each other. The next U8's outing is this Thursday at 7pm when we travel to Tuam. Our girls are so looking forward to another evening of games.

Camogie club meeting tonight (Wed 19th) in McGanns Bar at 9:30pm. All are welcome to attend.

Also, this weekend the Camogie Club are having their annual 'Car Wash' in the following locations Monivea Village, Mannions car park in Abbey and Ryan's car wash in Larragh. All funds go towards the underage development. This Saturday 22nd from 10am - 2pm. Please support.

Well done to our U12's who defeated Sylane last week to secure their place in the County Board Championships final. The finals are on this coming Saturday in Loughrea but the time has yet to be confirmed. We will post details on our facebook page once confirmed. This is another 1st for Abbey this year to have our U12's in a County Final so if you can come to cheer on our girls they'd appreciate the support. We wish the players and management all the best.

Under 8's are hosting a blitz this Saturday 15th at 12 noon. We ask all U8 players to attend as it'll be good experience to get some games played and blitzes are always a great day for everyone with good numbers attending from the other clubs in our group.

The Camogie Club are holding a sponsored 'Car Wash' on Saturday 22nd June in the following locations Ryans of Larragh, the carpark of Mannions in Abbey and in Monivea Village. This was a great event last year and we expect this years to be even better again. So do bring your car along to any one of the above venues between 10am - 2pm and we'll have your car sparkling for you.

The next Camogie Club meeting is on Wednesday 19th at 9:30pm in McGanns Bar, Monivea. All are welcome to attend club meetings.

Under age training as usual on Wednesday eve from 7-8pm.
The under 14s were defeated last Friday in their game against Turloughmore which finished 4-0 to 2-1. Although they lost it was a good game as they displayed some great skill throughout and this was our 1st time to come up against a team from the B group.
